El Gezira Tower

El Gezira Tower was build in 1961. It is 187 meters tall, and is located in the center of an island in the middle of the Nile River in Cairo. It has a very nice view of Cairo from all around. You can see the old Citadel, The Pyramids, old Cairo, the Nile river flowing from the south and into the north, and a lot more.

	View to the South East. Qasr El Nil bridge is visible, as well as the Semiramis Intercontinental and Shepard Hotel. Old Cairo (mainly the Islamic era city) is in the foreground.
	A closer view from the same vantage point. The Citadel is visible in the center background, and the Moqattam mountains beyond it. The Citadel was the seat of rulers from the 1100's C.E. till the 1850's C.E.

	View to the South. The Opera complex is visible in the foreground right. The Gezira Sheraton is the tall building at the tip of the Gezira island. The Meridien hotel is the white building at the tip of the Manyal El Rodah Island, the majestic Nile River flows from the south at the top right of the this picture.
	View to the South West. The pyramids are barely visible in the center right of the picture (as a fuzzy blob due to the smog and pollution). The Domed Opera building is at the left. The tip of the pool of the Ahli club is visible.
