Egyptian Desert
Submitted by Khalid on Mon, 2004/10/11 - 13:27There are many interesting things about the Egyptian desert.
The are completely barren areas, like along the road between Cairo and Fayyoum (known as Asuit road).
West of Alexandria, the Mariout area blooms with various flowers in late winter.
South West of Alexandria, there are high cliffs, desert lakes in oasis settings, and seas of sand.
There are fossils of whales in the south, as well as artifacts from ancient human settlements, such as flint arrowheads, rock paintings, and the like.

What is the Egyptian Desert
What is the Egyptian Desert also known as?
Is that a question?
Is that a question you are asking me? Or this a homework assignment?
Anyways, the desert in northern Africa, the one in Egypt being a part of it, is known as the Sahara. This is the Arabic word for "desert".
