US President-Elect Barack Obama was on an interview with Barbara Walters on ABC yesterday.
Among the things that was discussed, was his intention on keeping the Blackberry he currently uses.
What struck me was this quote:
"One of the things that I'm going to have to work through is how to break through the isolation -- the bubble that exists around the president.
"I'm in the process of negotiating with the Secret Service, with lawyers, with White House staff ... to figure out how can I get information from outside of the 10 or 12 people who surround my office in the White House,"
This is a very smart man, and he realizes that he can be fed selective and possibly biased information from the small group around him. He wants to break the bubble by keeping the Blackberry, so he can read news for himself.
Or perhaps I am too optimistic ...
