A few weeks ago, I was contacted by someone who got scammed. He was conned out of $750 already, and I advised him not to send any more money. The fact that he got scammed made me realize that this scam works, and that is why we all get so many version of it. It also made me sad for the poor sap who got swindled out of his money. However, the following email made my day. The articles I have been writing, the email scam I have been posting, and the many comments from others helped one person not being scammed.
hi 1st of all i would like to thank you for the information on thiswebsite, i was this close to sending money to these scam bags untill i can cross ur website....this man is ready to come and meet me here in london to give me the box apparently containing 9,000, 000 us dollars in exchange for £3,600.

Scammers
Mon, 2007/03/26 - 19:50Thanks for the tip. But the way I see it, if you're gullible enough to think that exchanging L3,600 for $9,000,000 is a deal...well, I guess his decision shows his way of thinking doesn't it?

Wow! 9 million?
Thu, 2007/04/05 - 01:10I agree .. while I applaud the fact that your site managed to help someone from being scammed, I can't believe that so many would be so greedy up to that stage.
Any sober, non greedy person can clearly see that exchanging a couple of thousands for 9 million bucks is a ridiculous proposal.
