Presentation: Microcontrollers and the Internet of Things (IoT)

Last Monday, I gave a talk at the KWLUG on Microcontrollers and The Internet of Things (IoT).

It covered topics such as: how microcontrollers are different from 'computers', the Arduino and Arduino IDE, the ESP8266 and ESP32 WiFi enabled microcontrollers, and using MicroPython on them. Also covered the very low cost STM32 ARM Cortex microcontroller.

Also briefly covered Home Assistant, and demonstrated some projects that I did with all the above.

You can find the slides below.

An audio recording of the talk can be found here.

The talk was also recorded on video.

A microcontroller can be viewed as an independent framework with a processor, memory and peripherals and can be utilized as an implanted framework. The greater part of microcontrollers being used today are implanted in other hardware, for example, cars, phones, machines, and peripherals for PC frameworks.

Thank you so much. I am very happy because I was seeking information about microcontroller and I got that here.
