Email Scam: Winning a Fake Lottery

Here is the e-mail I received not once, but TWICE:

TL754/22/76 has won the prize Sum of: €2,000,000.00 (Two Million Euro), in an Email Sweepstakes program held on the 19th of November 2007.

Yet another advance fee scam. This "Oxford Lottery" has been around for some time and although it's an obvious scam to most of us, there will be some people who are deceived. They must be still making cash out of it, or they would not keep spamming. I am sure that the answer lies in taking action against Internet Service Providers who know perfectly well that they are spam carriers. In this case, it is Comcast, based in the U.S.A.

Until the DOJ attacks them with punitive fines, we can expect to see more of this.

Anyway, when I refused to give up the loot for my loot, they (scarlet courier LTD) wanted me to send a release statement to send the "loot" back to the lottery runners. Is it true or false...you decide. As follows:
