Money laundering for unwilling assistants: Job offer as "payment representative"

Has anyone kept the cheque instead of forwarding it? I dont want to forward and be on the hook for it.

I first answered and ad to a supposed women...who then e-mailed me back to say that the position had already been filled... and gave me this "other mans" e-mail.. saying he was looking for someone!!
I see that through a "nanny" ad.. they are targeting women/single mothers looking to earn extra money etc...

MY RESPONSE!

This is obviously a scam!

I have given your information to the appropriate legal and law enforcement sources as well as "Mrs.Maxwell's" information,(copies of both e-mails) and of the original newspaper ad.

I have also informed the newspaper that just such postings are fraudulent and illegal and to be aware of the implications of allowing such postings.

You may be able to scam some people who are naive and unaware that such ignorant and pathetic people exist in this world, but you have come across the wrong person.

Keep in mind that even if you continue to get away with your illegal activity in the future, ONE FACT will ALWAYS REMAIN....

In the end, either in this life time through Karma, and most assuredly once you are DEAD.... you will be confined to purgatory of eternity for your corrupt actions....as well as everyone else involved!

I too applied for a nanny job, but was told that they had already found someone. She then gave me the e-mail of a "family friend" that needed a worker. I e-mailed him, and this is what I got in return. Obviously this is too good to be true. No one will pay you thousands of dollars just to forward a check.

I am embarassed to say that I did respond to the ad, as seen on other comments here, the original ad was placed for a nanny. I then received information the position was filled, but that her her friend, Mr. James Paul, was interested in finding someone to help make bank transactions, legal I thought, as I did pull up the company and it is based as he said in UK.
However, I filled out the information, thinking it was legitimate, then read the various comments, somem of them from the same individual that I had received the info from.

I unfortunately filled out the information form that he requested, I am now concerned that since he does have some of my personal information, that I should make some type report. I certainly didn't accept the postion, and have not received any type payment, and would not cash or attempt to cash if I did, but I am concerned, and feel embarassed that I did initially fall for the scam. I have been unemployed for over a year and the economy being in such a bad state, I have had no luck at all with a job search, so this sounded wonderful, at first. I now of course want nothing to do with it, but I am concerned that I filled out some of the info.

I came across this same ad in Atlanta, I did email a Amber Linares about a position for a babysitter,she in turn gave me a different address to a Micheal Abraham. I googled the company name and the company is in the U.K. like some of you have stated,then I googled Micheal Abraham of Bute Fabrics Ltd and it brought me to this site.
I did not fill out any information,but I hope people will look into the ad and that they don't fall pray to this.

I also got exact similar email from 'justin.anderson519@hotmail.com'. I'm in need of money; so want to know how this becomes a scam; has anyone experienced any scam and become victim of anything by sending out requested information? Thank you very much for help!!!
