Money laundering for unwilling assistants: Job offer as "payment representative"

You should consider turning the check over to your local police. I rcvd a check from them and decided to verify funds before putting it in my account (again close to $4000). Wells Fargo said the account is not a valid number - either closed or not an account but would not specify which. I tried to locate the company listed on the checks and the address is fake - the street name does not exist according to the USPS and the phone number listed os for a different state all together and only goes to voice mail. I informed "John Sprung" Exactly what I had found out and what I was going to do with the check. He bacame irate and threatened to sue me if I turned it over to the police and stated he had won a $10,000 law suit against someone else for doing the same thing. I don't know how stupid he thought I was, but no judge would ever grant a settlement for a person turning information over to the poilce!! If they were a legit company, the police would be able to locate them and return the check... The cops may or may not be able to locate these people, but any information you give them may help and maybe there is a chance they could help you recoup some of the money. I doube it, and that is the bad thing. These people prey on desperate people that need work like you and I and are willing to try just about any job out there and then we would get stuck holding the bag and further in debt thanks to them. That is the ONLY reason I turned the check I had along with the env it came in and all email communication from "Malik" reps to them. I really made me angry that they tried to put me $4000 in the hole with a bad check. I have 2 kids to worry about. Then threatening me on top of that with a crazy lawsuit - tried telling me that my bank is the only place that could verify funds. Wells Fargo had already confirmed the account was closed!! I'd like the chance to personally get a hold of "John" and introduce him to some good ol' GA boys!!

Well now apparently theyve changed from MALIK oil to WILSON oil...this is the email i got.

It is important to inform you that when customers request samples/Laboratory test results, payments for the processing of these items and the freight cost might be sent to you directly,This is because it is the company's policy to allow payment's below $5,000 be sent to the Local agent(you), so as to save time. As you already know that a speedy ordering process is our goal.You would have to forward such payments to the freight company.

Benefits:

You will receive a weekly pay of $300.00 plus $20.00 for communication,in case you have to make calls. Your pay check is due monthly, which brings it to a total of $1280.00 monthly.

Also, for every customer order you handle successfully,you get 5% of the total purchase apart from your salary.
