IS THERE A PLACE TO POST OUR PICS OF FAKE CHECKS and MOs?

Tue, 2011/09/20 - 13:06

Just a further precaution to help warn unsuspecting people NOT to deposit or cash them. I love love love the poster who checked with the company whose name was on the check they received - that's great!! :D To the people who've received threats that the sender/buyer/SCAMMER will report them to the FBI, ROFL, tell them you've already reported them and provided the FBI, police, etc. with copies of all correspondence, names, addresses, etc. OF THE SCAMMER. Turn the tables.

Well, that is a big difference! We will be happy to do that for you. I received a check for $1970.00. I will deduct the agreed amount of $250 and make a money order for you to give to the person who picks up the lamp. The difference should be approximately $1720., give or take a few dollars for the cost of the money order if you dont mind. I am also sorry to hear about your wife. I am a cancer nurse at the local hospital here, and to receive a diagnosis like that, I know is very hard. My family will be praying for you and your wife. Please be patient with me. I am about to start a very difficult night shift weekend at the hospital and I may not be able to get to the bank and make the money order until Monday. If you are concerned at all, please don't hesitate to call me at . Your money is in honest and trustworthy hands and will get back to you soon. Sincerely, Kate

Hi, I am trying to sell a bed

Tue, 2011/10/11 - 11:54

Hi, I am trying to sell a bed and am continuously emailed by fake buyers (Craigslist has become a little bit of pain in this regard as a few years ago it didn't happen this much).

So far the following email addresses have turned out to be scams. Saying they are trying to buy the item for a relative and sending the money by paypal.

Of course the emails you receive through "Paypal" are fake email addresses, even with emails stating that "you don't need to worry" :-) actually quite professionally done etc. etc.

jamesscottd17@googlemail.com
brwnsmit6@gmail.com
nicklo200@gmail.com

So never give your exact address, and an email address that you cannot find using google nowadays is definitely just created by a young boy sitting in an internet cafe somewhere in Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia or elsewhere ;-) - etc. etc.

Good luck!

Sun, 2011/10/16 - 18:08

I received the following email after someone (Stacy - jide.oloye@gmail.com and Kimberly Hartzell -honytrkjdk@gmail.com) emailed me asking if the furniture I had posted was still available. I told them it was and asked if they would like to come look at it...this is the response I received from the second email address:

Thanks for getting back to me and am sorry for my late response...so I
am okay with the condition and the price and am ready for its
purchase. So I'll be paying you with a certified Bank Check and the
payment will be issue out to you Via Ups Courier service and I'll be
responsible for the pick-up and the moving while you hold on my
behalf. So,I will be needing more pictures of different types to be
sure of what am buying and the following information to issue out the
payment to you..

Full name to be on the check.
Full Physical address to post the check(not P.O box)
City, State and Zip Code
Home & Cell Phone to contact you.

Please note that the payment will be overnight to your address and it
will be delivered within 2 days and I will like you to know that will
not be responsible for shipping i will have my mover to come over to
your location as soon as you have received and cashed the check so get
back to me with above information so i can mail out the payment on
time..Thanks and hope to hear from you as soon as possible.Regards.

Take Care.

I knew it looked very fishy and googled it. If something doesn't seem right, it probably isn't! Hope this helps others know what to look for so they can protect themselves.
