scam??
Fri, 2009/06/12 - 08:03Not sure if this a scam. I got an email very similar to yours to start. How is it a scam? I just got this one after I said I'd sell to him.
I hope you are fine and alright. I have been busy myself but doing great. There is something i think i must bring to your notice.
After a reconciliation of my account , i discovered that somehow my assistant must have over paid you. The payment that was meant for another transaction was sent to you and the one meant for you was sent to another, however i want to believe i wont have a problem with you.
Please once you receive your payment, i will like you to deduct your money and send the remaining via western union to the shipping company that will help me with the pick-up. I will ask them to contact you as soon as possible .Let me know
as soon as you get your payment.
Warm regards.
James Scott.

Thu, 2010/10/28 - 05:43Hi,
Thanks for your response. I'm going on a vacation to London but I will instruct my assistant to prepare and mail your payment which I'm sure you will get in about 4 - 6 business days. I'll add $20 extra for the delay. I'll pay by M O or cashier check so send me your info (i.e full name, mailing address and your phone number) so payment can be mailed out immediately. I will also make arrangement for pick-up which will be after you must have received and cashed the payment.
Awaiting your info.

next responce......
Good Morning,
Thanks for your quick response and am also excited to hear from you that the vehicle is still available for sale.
And thanks for the information you just gave about the vehicle and am quite delighted to hear from you that the vehicle is still in great conditions.
The reason why am purchasing this vehicle is because My self and my partner just need one additional vehicle.
Please i want you to email me more pictures aside from the one on web advert page if is still available both the exterior and interior.
Due to my condition i will not be able to view the vehicle at present because i'm heavily pregnant, and the distance as well.
My personal circumstances do not allow me to travel, like wise my partner is away.
According to the Features of the vehicle and the Full Description of the vehicle which i saw on the advert page i'm fully satisfied.
I want you to accept my offer of £7,700 inclusive the advert fees just because I know what the worth of the vehicle ,and also for you to reserve the vehicle for me.
The only way you will release the vehicle to any one is when the cash is in your hand, i.e. payments cleared at bank, and withdrawn.
I am located at Llanfairpwll in Anglesey
I will only required your full name and your postal address, so that the bankers draught could be posted to you via royal mail.
My preffered method of payment is by bankers draft in a (GBP) which may take 4 to 5 working days to Clear.
Please note that you will only release the vehicle until you have received confirmation from your bank that the payment has been given value and cleared.
I hope to hear from you today in order to proceed further with the payment and shipping arrangements as soon as possible.
I look forward to hear back from you today.
Cheers

I would just like to clarify exactly what i'm asking you to do so that you will really understand everything.
Once i have all your details below to make the payment out to you first thing on Monday morning, i will also send all my details to you as well in returns, in order to complete the V5 Registration document, you will not be sending it or filling it out until the payment has CLEARED.
You will require my full name and full address ready to fill out section 6 for the 'New Keeper' when the sipping agent arrives.
You shall also fill out section 10 'New Keeper Supplement'
You have to put the registration form in the glove box with the service history and stuff but then said it needed to be sent to the DVLA? I understand that upon completion of the sale you will be sending it immediately to the DVLA and will not leave it with the car.
The only thing you will be happy to leave in the glove box with all the other paperwork is the 'New Keeper Supplement' section 10 at MY discretion. You must retain section 10.

From the moment your bank confirm the money has cleared the amount of £7,700 for the vehicle is yours, and the shipping agent will be available for collection, after you have contacted me to inform me that payment is cleared.
I just want you to be aware that i am deaf,my partner would ring you as soon as the payment has been sent.

This one sounds like a scam for a car I am trying to sell
Wed, 2010/01/20 - 19:27I have never heard of this and my car has been listed for several months
Here is the first e-mail - I had replied to his question with the answers next to the question.
Date: Thu, 14 Jan 2010 17:15:48 +0100
Subject: DETAILS AND ROCK PRIZE NEEDED ASAP
From: romeo4guzman@gmail.com
Thanks for the email. Please I have a client who is very much
interested in buying your vehicle. He happened to budget for a car
last time and unfortunately it was sold. I have discussed with him and
he has agreed that he will be willing to have the vehicle shipped to
Canada upon reaching an agreement with you.
Please I have Some Questions to Ask:
1) Is the engine in perfect condition? - no check engine light comes on (needs cam and crank sensor)
2) How often do you service the Vehicle? the vehicle has been sitting for several years. I occassionally start it and drive it around.
3) How many miles on the Vehicle now? 73k
4) Are you the owners?yes
5) If yes, for how long did you use Vehicle? I bought the vehicle in 2004 and drove it for 2 1/2 years before I had bought a new vehicle.
6)Finally At what price are you willing to sell this
Vehicle to Us ...Bottom price. $2500.00
Thanks,
ROMEO GUZMAN
