I got this email from a scammer, in response to a classified ad for a car. You can see that his questions are more sophisticated than the others:However, the signs of scamming is there, such as "the item", and signing "Donald" while his name in the email is "greg mcdonald".

Wed, 2010/09/29 - 14:25I just got an email fron "paypal" in the spam folder supposedly there's a pending payment (on hold) from one "beckygil07@gmail.com" with an additional money to be paid to the "shipping agent". Hahaha.. What a scammer. Almost thought it was real. On suspecting it was a scam, I googled some email addresses they use and found this website. Thanks for sharing everyone.. Cheers!

Still trying his best.. Fat chance! hahahaha
Wed, 2010/09/29 - 14:14I kinda figure out that this guy is a scammer. So I refuse to pay anything in advance. He keeps on trying.. No way! Here are his exact words.. "WTF..Yes, you will have to pay an upfront payment of Rm2,600 out of your pocket via western union office at your post office to the Shipping Agent for the pick up fee, and you will be given the information requested at the western union office. which you will e-mail to paypal by replying to the confirmation mail sent from them ...and you will receive the whole money in your account without any delay after they have verified that you have sent the money to the agent. You just have to comply with PayPal and everything would go on as expected. You have nothing to fear or worry about.. Okay?". Funny!

scam
Mon, 2010/11/01 - 14:19Had an item on Craigslist and immediately got a reply asking if it was still for sale duh! I just posted it. The following day I received an email saying his "assistant" has informed him that the item was still for sale. He offered $30 more than my asking price if I would remove it from Craigslist so that it would be "in my favor". I was leery so decided to give him a phony address as I did not want to give him mine. After I read some of these scams I realized this also was one. I told him the item is no longer for sale and I only deal in cash anyhow. Hopefully, that is the end of it.

I have been "transacting"
Thu, 2010/11/25 - 10:00I have been "transacting" with "Kevin Son" who wrote me concerning my CL ad for $200 worth of items.
He wrote"Hi,
Got your mail. I'm due for vacation to London but I will instruct my assistant to prepare and mail your payment which I'm sure you will get in about 4 - 6 work days. I don't mind adding $20 extra for the delay. Payment will be by M O or cashier check so send me your info (i.e full name, mailing address and your phone number) so payment can be mailed out immediately. I will also make arrangement for pick-up which will be after you have received and cashed the payment.
Awaiting your info.
Thanks
Kevin"
so of course I have sent
"I will have my assistant contact your assistant. But first I have to find my assistant's assistant to assist him in the contact arrangement. Due to your generous offer I will subtract the "extra" twenty dollars from the asking price and sell the items to you for what the original ad says, after you have come here and paid for them of course, by cash only!
I do not accept personal checks, Money Orders, or cashiers checks. Please send contact info so our "assistants" can setup this most important transaction. I need to vacation to Nigeria to find a barrister so please hurry."
and
"Mr. Kevin,
Oops....I seem to have sent you a cashiers check in the amount of $2600 overpayment. Unfortunately, my three sons are all needing kidney transplants and being as I am deaf and blind, I must needs be that you will please send back cheque so I can go to Nigerian Bank of Used Internal Organs and pickout new kidneys for those three sons of mine (the mother was a drunken whore she was). My poor sons are Heckle, Jeckle, and Kreckle and are also paraleyzed with Zambeezie Dung fever and cough up big hairballs. You can understand my discomfiture at these events. So please cut short your vacation in London and please don't be late, you can contact any barrister and let them know when you will be complying and they will most assuredly be contacting someone. Perhaps Leona Cross may assist in this most important and needs be expedient transaction. Perhaps this message has caught you at a bad time so please relax and eating a big steaming bowl of bovine excrement might calm you down (share some with your assistants too).

Another craigslist scum
Sat, 2010/11/27 - 01:18Hello,
There is few issues:
1. EBay not providing such of services.
2. If Ebay will provide something like that, then there is should be enough my EBay alias, to do any transaction.
4. To do any transaction using eBay, user should have account and alias - you not even asked if I have eBay account.
5. Everything looks for me like cheap scum, not even well prepared.
Thank you.

Thanks for getting back with me,
The car is at the shipping company in Anchorage,AK ready for the shipping. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them, being the safest for both of us.
First of all I will need your full name and shipping address so I can register the transaction with eBay. Once you receive the details from eBay, the car will be reserved for you until you read the details and decide if you want to proceed or not. You will have a 5 days inspection period, after the car arrives at your address to make sure it is as shown in the photos and in good condition. If by any reason the car is not as described or if you find any problems with it, I will arrange to ship it back on my cost and you will receive your money back. EBay will hold the funds until the inspection period is over and you decide if you're going to buy it or not. This way you're not going to pay for something you haven't seen and with the inspection period you can make sure it's as described.
If you agree with this terms please reply with your full name and address so we can get the ball rolling.

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in my car. I just moved to Anchorage,AK and there are a lot of things that have priority now, so this car has to go. It looks exactly as pictured,no engine problems, damages or hidden defects and hasn't been involved in any accident. Transmission is automatic, has 123,000 miles and I will agree selling it for $2.400. I am willing to sell it fast, so get back to me only if you're ready to make this purchase. This is a very well maintained car, clear title no liens, under my name and in hand. Due to the fact that I am very busy with my work I need a fast transaction, and I can`t afford to waste time on advertising the car at the true value. If you're willing to make this purchase, contact me asap and let's start the transaction.
Thank you

Greg Gordon, maybe Sarah's husband?
Thu, 2011/06/23 - 07:55This twat sent me n sms which cme through as "onalee.bren" "Message centre "+16475800280" The dialogue pretty much stopped after I put this bloke in his place.....
by the way, 125,000 sek is about €12,000
I wrote to him last:
There was never any deal in the first place. Nobody buys a 40 year old family boat without looking at it, in Sweden, paid by penpal and then has it shipped? This just does not happen, it is absurd.
It's all a bit too weird mate, you come on so strong that you are so desperate to have the boat and then all of a sudden you don't want it without the penpal thing. Seems to me that your motive is not the boat but some kind of paypal thing, smells like fish, you should stop it before somebody hunts you down and hurts you bad - because they will and you wont like what they will do to you.
At the very least, you should make your scam a bit more believable to the average Joe - even he could sit back and have a laugh at this one!!! A retarded kid could come up with a better plot than yours, it's an insult to my and others' intelligence.
