TIP: always request position is available before sending resume

Something felt off about this job posting so I decided not to send my resume but send an inquiry instead. It made sense since the posting was a few days old but after receiving the response that they read my resume and liked it, I confirmed it was a scam and was so thankful I didn't send any personal information.

It's a really tough call in this economy to hold back and not send your resume to every potential employer but its better to be wary then be susceptible to identity theft or worse.

what happens if you did send any personal information?!! this guy sent me a check and told me what to do with it SO SKETCH. i'm not doing any of that! i kept the check and it's just sitting there.. thinking of just ripping it up but idk they might need it as some form of evidence or something?? he emailed me asking why i was delaying the process. what do i do with this check?!!

I saw a news piece on

I saw a news piece on that...the checks are not real, they are fake and if you cash them you will be the responsible party and charges will put against you. On the news piece was a lady that was doing it for several months and when the checks started coming back from her bank as fraud, they charged her and she owes the bank. I believe she is being prosecuted...not sure...Anyway..I just received the response myself this morning and I googled the company. Glad I read all you the comments on this page!
