Another scam via Craigslist: offering more than asking price

i have been getting emails that i know are scams but am curious to know what scam it is..

the offer to help you sell your listed item from another site..

then there ie a link that says " here you go"

i guess they want me to click on theat link which is a hyertext link ..

does ne 1 know what this is ??

got the same thing today. Got the check in the mail and then an email. Has anyone ever cashed these checks?

Selling furniture in Denver and got the exact same email as all of you, the BS about the secretary and everything. I am freaking out because he has my name, address, phone number and email. Never had a bad experience like this on Craigslist. I have sold many things, including a car! I was a little suspicious he didn't want to see the furniture first, after all it is used, so I googled his email address and it said he was from Denver, he had also commented/posted on a few blogs so I thought he was legit, I just feel so stupid I gave out my details, never again and cash only like all our other transactions.

Is there harm since I already gave out my address?

Thanks for the fast response towards this transaction,I'm okay with the asking price and i want you to note that i will be paying with a certified cashiers check and the payment that will be sent to you will include the shipper's fee which mean's you don't have to bother yourself on the shipping/pick up and immediately you receive the payment you will cash the payment and deduct your item fee and get the shipping cost wired via western union or money gram to the shipper's information that will be sent to you and if you are okay with this terms kindly get back to me with the Name,Address and your contact telephone number so that the payment can be issued out to you as soon as possible.

I just got in touch with my uncle and we thought of mailing the payment check mid next week in one of his business trip abroad (US Certified Money Order)...Please let me know if this is OK with you.I will need you to email me your information (full name, mailing address,NOT P.O.BOX and a direct phone number to reach you) for the payment so that i can have it forwarded to my Uncle as requested. My Uncle is not in same state with you,he's only on a business trip in the USA.

Ok So this is a funny one. I sell a lot of crap on craiglist my last couple cars, and random other stuff so naturally I get flooded with these scams. Half the time I curse them out, but the other half I like to fuck with them and let them think they got somebody. a few days ago my father was looking at a car on craigslist and had a few emails back and forth with the guy. It was a 20,000 dollar car for 4100. It was the " I'm shipping off to the gulf of Aden and I need to sell this in 2 weeks, I will give you free shipping through military cargo. Give me your information and I will send you a cashiers chech..yada yada yada." So my dad asked me to check it out and immediately realized it was a scam. The guys name was Jon Mayers haha. So I emailed him from my email pretending to be interested in the car asking him a million stupid questions. He said he had ebay buyer protection program even though this was on craigslist. So anyway a few days later I put a guitar amp for sale up and got 4 B.S. emails the first day, Wouldn't you know it one of them was from JON MAYERS haha. At that point I had to call him out and tell him how bad he is at this and what a worthless sack of *&^%$** F&%king peice of S^%t he was. Couldn't resist. and yet he still returns my original emails about his car haha.

He was advertising my apartment on Craigslist for $2100 less than what I was offering it...after I replied and challenged him he offered me 'wanna rape u in the ass?? fucking bitch!'
