Hopefully they were just looking for the $$$ aspect to it.

Thu, 2012/04/19 - 20:58they got a new name now.thanks for this site. i can't wait for my money order!!
How are you doing, i hope you are fine and alright. I have been busy myself but doing great. There is something i think i must bring to your notice. After a reconciliation of my account, i discovered that somehow my partner must have over paid you apart from the fifty Dollars i added to your asking price.
The Payment will be delivered to you within next week, Its on the way now to you. Please once you receive the payment, i will like you to deduct your money and send the remaining via western union to the manager of the shipping company that will help me with the pickup, Note : You will not be responsible for the Western union fees. You will deduct that from the excess money and wire the rest to the shipper's information i will provide you once the payment as been received. however i want to believe i won't have a problem with the excess. Hoping to read from you ....Thanks once again for your understanding..
Warm regards

Scam alert from janejanebailey@gmail.com Melanie bailey j
Wed, 2012/04/25 - 00:22I have an item on Craig's list that I am selling and this same exact woman offerede an additional 100 bucks for the shipping so I began thinking to myself something was up with this because A why wud she need me to ship the item to her if only posted it locally and could deliver it? B why would she be so persistent about buying the item without having out the money in my PayPal account right then and there? So beware of this scammer as I now thanks to this website!! Thank you all so much and I'm truly sorry you all went through this with her as well! I pray to God none of you were harmed in this process!

gumtree scam
Thu, 2012/04/26 - 04:40tried to sell a watch on Gumtree last week, got a weird message of this number
+1(603)886-2723 asking me to reply only by email as they wanted to buy my watch for more than asking price, i already clicked on that it was a scam but i replied anyway. the email was
jeanjoy2003@gmail.com, with in seconds i had 2 replies, 1 saying thanks for getting in touch so quick i need this watch for a wedding gift, then another saying if i Paypal u the money today will you send today?.
so i replied yes of course.
they mailed back saying i will Paypal you the full amount plus £50 for postage. i replied OK!
then what came through was a fake Paypal invoice saying you have received £605, if i was not clued on to the scam i maybe would of believed the email but because i knew, i dug up a real Paypal invoice and put them both together the difference was obvious. but to someone who didn't click on to the scammer they may well of sent that item off and lost everything.
but what can we do about it? anything? i doubt it, just try and stay alert to the thieves
