I dealt with these people
Wed, 2010/01/06 - 13:29I dealt with these people when I was trying to sublet my apartment. Admittedly, it was the first time I had used Craigslist and when I got the first scam email, I thought maybe I was just genuinely dealing with someone who didn't speak english well. But when I tried to get them to answer basic questions like "when are you looking to move in?" and they just ignored me and rambled on about themselves, or about their situation, and when I started getting FLOODS of these emails, it didn't take long to figure it out. So I really don't understand how people can let themselves be duped by these.

And there's more...
Wed, 2010/01/06 - 20:07I have had an ad in for my car now for just 3 weeks and in that time only 3 have responded... you got it all scammers... thanks for this site and that I had the thought to Google their details...
Hi thanks for mailing back,i am an oceanographer, i am at sea right now,i am buying this for my son as a surprise gift and I am glad you accepted my offer.I can only pay through paypal at the moment as i dont have access to my bank account online(i dont have internet banking with it),but i have it attached to my paypal account, and this is why i insisted on using paypal to pay,all i will need is your paypal email address to make the payments, and if you dont have a paypal account yet,its pretty easy to set one up at www.paypal.com.au,i will be expecting your email.I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted....
I was just about to pay when i had this problem with the pick up, my pick up agent says i will need to pay for the pick up before they can schedule a pick up time, they charged me $550 for pick up and delivery, and payments for pick up made through them is made to their corporate international headquarters which is in the united kingdom and the payments is made through western union money transfer, i will add the $550 to the money i will send through paypal as soon as i have made the payments, i will email you and let you know and please i will need you to help me send the money to my pick up agent Hq in the UK through western union money transfer, this can be done from any post office ,there is always western union money transfer section in most post offices(you can do it online as well at www.westernunion.com)..., i would have done it myself but we cant bring some of our personal effects along, i am a little incapacitated.....I will appreciate your help here.
Nicholas...
His email is nicholaszx002@yahoo.com... so beware all he is another... After 20+ emails,
My last response to him was that I had reported his scam to Interpol, Paypal (haha), Carsguide and scamwatch and to hope that he rots in jail!!!!
Funny no response since...
Add him to your list... markqv01@gmail.com
And this 1 too... rev_james220@yahoo.com
Again thanks everyone and glad that I could add to the watch list...

Craigslist Scammer?
Fri, 2010/01/08 - 09:14This guy might very well be a scammer. In researching seems quite a few of these folks use gmail.com.
Here is my 2nd response to this guy. Note he does not provide any contact info other than the email address.

Hmmm.....Any reason why YOU can't provide me with your contact information
(cell, address, etc.) as previously requested in my earlier email?
Thank you for your offer to pay $50 over my asking price in addition to you
arranging for a mover to pick the item up at your expense.
After researching and careful consideration, I'm not willing to remove the ad
from craigslist until the item has actually sold and payment in full has been
received.
