Here is a classic scam from Craigslist.They offer to buy your item you advertised via classified for more money than you ask for ($375 in my case, he offered $500).They even give you a bleeding heart story about wife dying in accident.

2. goes by the name "RR" email:eladax@hotmail.com --I was going to buy a vehicle from him but thankfully realized it was a scam after he asked me to send a money order and said that the transaction was going to be done thru ebay when it was listed on CL...ebay doesn't do this nor do they offer protection for something on CL...beware....

Many scams on Craigslist
Mon, 2007/06/18 - 16:09I received an email from one person (with email address dammy_end@gmail.com) saying he's interested in buying my fridge which I was asking $395. He said he will mail a check for $400 to me and will send his shipper to pick up the fridge. I thought it was a real deal, so I agreed. Since then I kept receiving emails expressing they wanted to buy my stuffs for more than what I asked for. One person offered to send me a check for $3,095 for my fridge and gave me the instruction to wire the rest of the money to someone. I ignored those since I already agreed to sell it to the "dammy" guy.
The $3,095 check not $400 check came from dammy. I knew right away that there's something behind this. I talked to my brother in law. He is an investigator. He suggested me to shred the check and I did. Dammy guy kept sending me emails told me to cash the check and send the difference to somewhere. I told him I don't have the check anymore. He even tried to scare me by telling me that he will report me to FBI. Be careful! if you receive email from this guy...dammy_end@gmail.com
