Here is a classic scam from Craigslist. They offer to buy your item you advertised via classified for more money than you ask for ($375 in my case, he offered $500).They even give you a bleeding heart story about wife dying in accident.

Kindly get back to me immediately you receive my e-mail and i will like you to take it off craigslist for auction cos am serious in buying it.So let me have your full infomation ofr pyment to be made.... Bankrupt the Scammers...

Wed, 2012/05/02 - 12:00

If everyone does this these folks will get tired of spending $$ to overnight bogus checks to the four corners of the globe and getting no money in return.

When you get the reply that they want the item and are going to send you a check and have you send money (western union) to some shipper. Send them a bogus address to send the payment to. Make up a name and find an address to a coin op car wash or laundromat doesn't matter what city or state... these fools never seem to notice that it's not from the town in which you listed the ad. For a phone number... find a Time and Temperature recording or a weather recording.

The idea is to get them to spend money on sending a bogus check out and pay for express shipping.

This guy basically is paying

Sat, 2012/05/19 - 21:14

This guy basically is paying you to cash a bogus check.. I knew from the start something didn't seem right but I gave him an address to send the check to. The check for 2500 comes. I was asking 300 for an engine and he said his secretary made a mistake. The check came and the bank it was drawn on, bb&t was based in maryland and I was in north georgia, but there was a branch not even 3 miles from my house so my curiosity got the best of me and I went to the bank and had them check it. They ran it and said the numbers and signature didn't match. He is counting on you cashing it for him.
