Another scam via Craigslist: offering more than asking price

how do they scam...I recently got someone offering more than asking price and then wanted it shipped to nigeria? it seems fishy but they want to use pay pal? how am I going to be scammed? or is it legit?

would love a surprise inclusions in her music studio in our home on

Please do withdraw the advert from craigslist as i don't mind
adding $50 for you to do that, so i can be rest assured that the item
is held for me. I should believe it is in good condition as stated.

The whole thing set off my Spidey Sense, and I'm so glad I googled one of his paragraphs.

Good thing he's not actually giving it to his wife. I'd have felt bad if she got such a shitty dresser for her honeymoon surprise. :P

There is actually a website that collects the scam email addresses of people who post scams on Craigslist. Check for the email there before responding to an offer that you think might be a scam, and if you have been contacted by a scammer - post their email address on that site.

The scam tactic I received came from kevbrassfield@gmail.com. Here's the sob story they sent me. This statement is particulary disturbing "Please do mail me back immediately to let me know that i can count on you to handle everything with trust" . . . read below to if it sounds just like the scam sent to you:

already be sent out to you,so the payment should arrive any moment.But there was a little problem which i guess we can handle with understanding,i got to know that there was misinterpretation while sending the payment.According to the instruction i gave my
secretary,she was suppose to have sent you your payment.But in the
process she made a mistake by sending along the movers fund with your money on your name making the total to be $3,600 USD.She claimed that she thought i said she should send you a payment of $3,600.But i know very well i told her to send just your payment($750) as i promised to add $50 for you to delete the advert from the web,but i guess she didn't get it straight.It was a terrible mistake and the payment as already be sent to you, But that should not disturb our own transaction the deal is on and we will get through this problem.What will happen is that once you get the payment you will easily go straight to the bank and cash the payment and deduct your own money and go the nearest WESTERN UNION store around you and forward the extra money directly to my mover in cash via WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER immediately.Please i am very sorry for this inconvenience,you
can as well deduct another $50 dollars for all the trouble i must have put you during the course of this transaction and as well for your running around in cashing the payment making $800 you are to deduct,so that you can then send the remaining excess fund to my mover in cash via money gram money transfer as soon as you get the payment,so the mover can come and pick up the item immediately upon the confirmation of receiving the money...It was my intention to collect the money and send it to the mover, because the excess fund included in the payment coming to you is not just for the pick up of the ITEM that i am buying from you but there are some outstanding payment that the mover is currently being owed by me from the other items the mover as transported for me and i have promised to send it to him, before my secretary made her stupid mistake by including it to your fund and since it's now coming to you now,i guess i can count on you that you can handle this with trust and understanding and have it
sent to the mover in cash via money gram money transfer. Got scammed, this is what I received from Rev. Sco Field J. David, wow was I taken in, bibles, bible study books arrived in my home, I would go out and buy boxes, repack and take items to ups, they supplies the labels, but low and behold I was never paid for the job. No amount of email/yahoo IM would I get the money. Don't go for this one like I did here is email address "Mission Concept Ministry (ministryjob@me.com)" Just think of it I would get IM when they wanted something sent out and talk all pious but no money for the job. Scammers.

I posted on craigslist.com an item to be sold and I received this email from this man...I thought i was suspicious b/c I had listed my number and he never called only emailed. This is what he said first.

Then, I received this email after i had told him that the item was in good condition.."brand new" never been open!

This guy is a piece of work....I had sold it within a day and he sent this msg the day after.5/8/2009
