Tue, 2009/10/27 - 00:00Here's another scammer trying to do the same thing on CraigsList.
This scumbag goes by Mark Anthony with the address mrknthn12@gmail.com.
He says he'll send you a certified check for more $ that you asked for, so with this extra money YOU can pay HIS "mover" via western union with the difference.

Just got an email from Terry tylonn1978@gmail.com.
Sun, 2009/05/10 - 13:05This person responded to my Craig's List add for a wood burning stove. I am so glad that I checked this site, because he did say that he is in hawaii on his honeymood, and he did offer to pay more than was asked. He said that he wanted to surprise his new bride upon their return and have the "item" in the house after the honeymoon. Also, he wanted all of my contact information, including address. He stated that his "mover" would come get the item and that his secretary would mail me the check. Thanks for giving the heads up on this site.

Craigslist Scams
Mon, 2009/05/11 - 06:27I was selling a washer & dryer on CL and a guy sent me a check for $2000 more than the asking price and told me to deduct the money for the washer & dryer plus an additional $100 for my troubles and to wire the remaining back to him.But my bank returned the check for non sufficient funds, and when I notified him of that he never got back to me.

Same email address but different name
Sat, 2011/09/17 - 14:27I was selling a wii with many games asking price was $400, they said they sent me 1400 and I was suppose to Western Union all but, 500 to a mover to come and pick it up. I thought something was fishy when I googled the address and it was a high school parking lot! Then I got another e mail saying for me to get the money back from Western Union and Money gram it instead. I cashed the money orders and kept the money a side, because at that point I knew something wasn't right! I took the money back to the bank and it comes back that 2 of the 3 money orders were in fact counterfeit! So anybody trying to buy something from either of the following address please beware it is not legit!

alicejulie455@gmail.com
They had 4 different states involved and 5 different people besides my state and myself

Mon, 2009/06/29 - 08:01Received this email on June 29, 2009. I see he is still trying the same scam.
Hello,
I really appreciate your response to my inquiry. Im interested in
buying the furniture from you. I would love to come and check it myself
but I just got married and im presently on my honeymoon trip to Hawaii
with my wife.I would love a surprise change of furniture in our home
on our return.Pls do withdraw the advert from Craigslist as i dont
mind adding $20 for you to do that, so i can be rest assured that the
item is held for me. I should believe it is in good condition as
stated. I will be making the payment via a Check, which my secretary
will mail to you. I'll be picking the item from you with the aid of my
mover. My Mover will be coming to pick it from you once the Check has
been cashed. Pls I will need both your full name and physical address
along with your phone number to issue out the
payment.
Thanks,
terry
