I got the exact same honeymoon scam
Sun, 2009/07/12 - 00:13Almost word for word I recieved an inquiry of a table I posted on craigslist. The person offered my 50 more for the trouble. He also said he would like to have the table at his house for his bride when they came home. He would have a cashier check sent to me, and movers pick up the table. I did give him my address and phone number, now I am scared what is going to happen?

CL SMAP and SCAM
Fri, 2009/05/29 - 10:09Listen fellas, even tho it may be a nice gesture to report these email addresses as being spammers/scammers, with an automated bot it takes literately a second to create an email address.
Not only that but these scammers use software to respond to mass posts at a single time. They have thousands of "reserve" email addresses waiting to respond. As far as the scam of wanting your address, name, tel# I am not sute yet why they need this info, but I'm going to find out what the scheme of this scam is, maybe snail mail spam... who knows.
As for protecting yourself... add a security code/question within your posts and ask the person to respond with this code/answer, if they don't its most likely a scam/spam.
Good Luck!
