Looking for an E.G.C. colleague or teacher?

Here are some tips for trying to locate your ex-E.G.C. friends and colleagues, or even teachers and staff.First, try the Links and Resources page. There are many commerical sites that have a section on E.G.C., but their coverage is spotty. If you a relatively recent graduate, then contact your ex-colleagues. It is fairly easy to do so since not a lot of time has passed If you have graduated decades ago, like me, you can do the following:

  • Click on the add new comment below.
  • In your message, list the years you have been in EGC, your name, the name(s) of the persons you are looking for, and a way to contact you (phone, email, web site, ...etc.
  • Your message will be reviewed and published, and that can take a day or two.

Reconnecting

Thu, 2010/03/18 - 11:15

Hello

I left the EGC to return to the UK in 1969 though my last year there I was in Middle Three so didn't exactly graduate. Although I don't know the names you mention that could just as well be my bad memory more than anything else... but I have been in touch with some of my old classmates on Facebook and there is every chance that they might know the people you are looking for. So, check me out and find my friends list - e.g. Adalet Tigin, Nagwa Naggar, Faty el Wakil or even try searching for your friends via that route as well.

Also, have you tried the EGC website. I don't have the link to hand but Google is pretty good.

Good luck
All best wishes

EGC in the 1960s

Thu, 2009/04/23 - 05:00

My brother Sebastian and I were at the EGC from 1963 to 1969 (in my case from Junior 3 to Middle 3) and I for one have certainly lost touch with everyone that was in my form (Adalet, Rumina, Celia, Perihan, Nabila, Jihan, Eiman, Mona etc etc) - where are you all now, what happened in your lives? I would love to hear from anyone out there who remembers us. I posted a few comments on the EGC official website with a terrible photograph;don't really look like that(http://www.geocities.com/englishgirlscollege/homepage.html). I am currently working at the University of Sussex (where I have been for 20 years now) as an administrator. Prior to that I worked in advertising and at Christies the auctioneers in London. I now live and work in Brighton, in Sussex (by the seaside). I am a single parent with a gorgeous son (born 1990) who has ASD (autistic spectrum disorder). I am just about to graduate as a BA (Hons) since I didn't return to education until later in life. I am also investigating doing TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) and already have a certificate after doing a taster course. Do get in touch if we knew each other.

With all best wishes
Sinnet
